Appointments

Appointments at Northwest Neurology

Northwest Neurology provides outpatient neurological services for adult patients across Tamworth and the New England Northwest region.

Appointments may include:

  • Neurological consultations
  • Neurophysiology testing
  • EEG investigations
  • Botulinum toxin treatments

Our team will contact you once your referral has been received and reviewed.

All referrals are triaged according to clinical urgency and service availability.

Referral Requirements

A valid referral from a doctor or specialist is required before an appointment can be booked.

Please ensure your referral includes:

  • Current contact details
  • Relevant medical history
  • Previous investigations where applicable

Northwest Neurology provides specialist consultations for adult patients only. Children are not seen in consultation at our practice, neurophysiology testing, such as EEG, is available to patients of all ages with a valid referral.

Fees & Billing Information

Appointments, investigations, and procedures will involve out-of-pocket expenses.

Fees can vary depending on:

  • Appointment type
  • Investigation requirements
  • Treatment provided
  • Medicare eligibility

Preparing for Your Appointment

To help your appointment run smoothly, we recommend bringing:

  • Relevant scans or reports
  • Previous neurological test results where available

For EEG or neurophysiology testing appointments, additional preparation instructions may be provided before your visit.

If this is your first appointment, please arrive early to ensure any additional paperwork can be completed. If you are running late, or unable to make your appointment, please call the practice as soon as possible.

Accessibility & Parking

We are committed to creating a welcoming and supportive environment for all patients.

Free parking is available at the rear of the practice, however please note the car park has low clearance restrictions. While the practice is wheelchair accessible, some doorway widths are limited as the building was originally designed as a residential property.

If you have accessibility requirements or use mobility aids, we encourage you to contact our team prior to your appointment so we can help ensure your visit is as smooth and comfortable as possible.

Regional Travel Assistance

Northwest Neurology supports patients travelling from regional and rural communities across NSW.

Some patients may be eligible for travel and accommodation assistance through the Isolated Patients Travel and Accommodation Assistance Scheme (IPTAAS).
